It has already been 4 months since I gave up my career as a lawyer to focus on Edward Kwan. While nothing beats getting to live my passion, there have definitely been challenges like:
- the isolation of working on my own - the staff at my local cafe are my new work friends 🤩
- feeling like I’m killing it when the orders are rolling in, then next minute the PANIC!!! when they’re suddenly not. I’ve been assured by business owner friends that the panic is something I’ll have to get used to 😅
- and while I have the creative skill down pat, I don’t necessarily know how to execute a ‘proper’ business and have a tendency to just wing it. But I have been blown away by the number of friends and complete strangers who have been happy to help me, give me advice, promote Edward Kwan and give me a kick up the butt when required!
I recently did an interview with Polka Dot Bride, an online wedding magazine, talking about Edward Kwan and the process behind my custom hand painted orders, which I am slowly transitioning to be Edward Kwan’s only offering. You can read it here!
